The Benefits of Bile Salts
Bile salts play a crucial role in digestion and nutrient absorption, particularly in the breakdown and absorption of fats.
Emulsification of Fats
Bile salts act as emulsifiers, which means they break down large fat globules into smaller droplets. This process is essential because it increases the surface area of fats, making them more accessible to digestive enzymes called lipases.
